Washington's 30th Legislative District covers Federal Way, Auburn, Algona, Pacific, and parts of Milton and Des Moines in South King County. The district sends one State Senator and two State Representatives to Olympia to represent roughly 150,000 residents.
A State Senator serves a four-year term and votes on the state budget, taxes, public safety laws, transportation funding, and education policy that directly shapes life across South King County. Senators also confirm gubernatorial appointments and help write the laws that local governments operate under.
